When I choose Visible for a locked folder, can I signify with/change the folder icon to show that the folder is locked?

S
Answer by Sean Hill

These applications will modify the icons of folders automatically and based on how are they programmed. You can use a custom icon, but the sooner you lock or unlock the folder, Easy File Locker will apply the same icon to mark the directory being locked or not.

Look in the application's settings to see if it offers customization options for folders.

Easy File Locker requires a password, but I haven't set it. How to uninstall it?

S
Answer by Sean Hill

If you didn't lock any files on your computer, then you can uninstall the application through the usual Uninstall a program from Control Panel. In case you encounter issues with the uninstall procedure, try using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

I've just installed Easy File Locker but I haven't set the password yet. Everytime I open the software, it's requiring a password. I also can't uninstall the software. What can I do now?

Answer by Andie Dobbs

You can clear the password or just access the data without protection. In the first case, you will have to select Menu Item System> Set Password, don't enter any password in the newly opened field, but click "OK". By starting your computer in Safe Mode, all the protected files will be visible and accessible. To enter the Safe Mode, restart your computer and press F8 before loading Windows. From the available options, choose Safe Mode.

I use Easy File Locker to hide some of my files, but after reinstalling Windows, my password seems to be corrupted. I receive only an "Invalid password" message whenever I try to insert the code that worked fine before. I'm using a Windows 7 computer. How can I get my files back?

In order to recover your files, you need to start your PC in Safe Mode. To do this, reboot the computer, press and hold the F8 key and use the arrow buttons to highlight the safe mode option from the Advanced Boot Options screen. Press Enter and then log on using an Administrator account. After that, all the protected files will be visible and accessible. If you have issues, use [email protected] email address to get in touch with the support team.

I want to uninstall this software. But this computer is used by another person. The password is known only by this person. I need to uninstall the software. Please give me advice on how to remove this software.

J
Answer by Julia Bocchetta

Forcing uninstallation is not an option here because you will lose all the content that is locked. You probably should ask the other person for the password to avoid further complications.
